This project is an High precision digital thermometer which indicates the temperature on the seven segment display. It has an resolution of 0.06deg.The 1 wire temperature sensor IC from Maxim semiconductors is used as the sensor. The DS18S20 Digital Thermometer provides 9-bit centigrade temperature measurements and has an alarm function with nonvolatile user-programmable upper and lower trigger points. The DS18S20 communicates over a 1-wire bus that by definition requires only one data line (and ground) for communication with a central microprocessor. It has an operating temperature range of -55°C to +125°C. In this project the negative temperatures are not taken so that it will display the temperature from 0 deg to 99.9 deg.

This Project is used to indicate the temperature and it is also used as controller. The system will get the temperature from the IC and it will display the temperature over the seven segment display/LCD display and this temperature was compared with the value stored by the user and if the Room temperature goes beyond the Preset temperature then an alarm is switched ON until the stop switch is pressed.The System is fully controlled by the microcontroller AT89S52. It is a popular 8 bit microcontroller. The circuit consists of four switches, in which two buttons are used to increment and decrement the temperature value and the next button is to start the Thermostat function and the other button is used to stop the thermostat function.
