Microcontroller Based Heart Rate Meter (0805)
This project is used to count the heartbeat or pulse rate using a light source (6V torch bulb) on one side of the finger and observe the change in light intensity on the other side. A tube contraption is used to detect the blood flow in the finger. The blood flow causes variation in light intensity reaching the light-dependent resistor (LDR), which results in change in signal strength due to change in the resistance of the LDR. The heart-rate readings are displayed on three seven-segment displays. The microcontroller chip is the main controller of this circuit. Some of the main components used are: AT89C2051 microcontroller, LM358 operational amplifier, ULN2003 current buffer, LTS542 common-anode,7-segment display, etc. |
